Reps vs Hevy: the facts compared
Reps: Gym Workout Log (repsworkout.com) is a free gym workout log for iPhone and Android, with no paid tier, no ads and no account needed to log. It has an AI coach that reads your log and connects to Claude and ChatGPT. Below, Reps and Hevy side by side, with a source for every fact about Hevy.
We make Reps. Facts about Hevy come from Hevy’s own website, help centre and store listings, all opened on 18 October 2026. Each one links to its source. Spot something out of date? Write to [email protected] and we fix it.
Pick Hevy if…
- You train with a watch. Hevy has Apple Watch and Wear OS apps2. Reps has none.
- You want a social feed, to follow friends and see their workouts3. Reps is a private log.
- You’re moving from Strong. Hevy imports your Strong history from a CSV file5. Reps can’t import workout history.
- You want a CSV export to open in a spreadsheet6. Reps exports JSON.
Pick Reps if…
- You want all of it free. Reps has no paid tier: routines, custom exercises, charts and history are free1. Hevy’s free plan caps routines and custom exercises and limits graphs and stats to the last three months4.
- You don’t want an account. In Reps you tap Skip — use without account and log. Hevy asks you to sign up with Apple, Google or e-mail first7.
- You want an AI coach that has read your log, for free. It writes your next routine from the sessions you logged; it needs a free account and has a daily message limit. Hevy’s program builder, Hevy Trainer, is part of Pro and, Hevy says, does not use AI4.
- You train in Czech, Slovak, Lithuanian, Ukrainian or Belarusian. Reps speaks 13 languages, including all 512 exercise names and instructions. Hevy lists 16 languages, and these five are not among them2.

Switching from Hevy to Reps
Reps can’t bring over your Hevy history. What it can bring over is your plan: send the coach a screenshot, a PDF or a CSV of your routines and it turns them into Reps routines you check before saving. Keep Hevy’s CSV export as your archive; your records in Reps start from your first logged session.
How we checked
On 18 October 2026 we read Hevy’s website, its help centre and its App Store and Google Play listings. We did not create a Hevy account, so what Hevy shows only after sign-up is described from Hevy’s own help pages. Prices are from the US App Store and differ by country. We keep screenshots and copies of every source, and re-check this page every month and when Hevy ships a new version.
- Reps: what’s free and the help page.
- Hevy on the App Store (US) and Google Play (US): platforms, languages, prices, ads; 2026 features guide.

Questions
Is Reps a free alternative to Hevy?
Yes. Reps: Gym Workout Log is free on iPhone and Android with no paid tier and no ads. It logs sets, reps and weight, keeps your routines, records and charts, and has an AI coach that reads your log. It has no watch app and no social feed, which Hevy has.
Can I move my workouts from Hevy to Reps?
Not your history. You can move your plan: send the Reps coach a screenshot, PDF or CSV of your routines and it builds them in Reps for you to check.
Does Reps work without an account, unlike Hevy?
Reps does: choose Skip — use without account on the first screen. Hevy asks you to sign up with Apple, Google or e-mail before you log.
Does Reps have an Apple Watch app?
No. Reps is on iPhone and Android only. Hevy has Apple Watch and Wear OS apps.
Which one works with ChatGPT and Claude?
Both. Hevy has an official ChatGPT app and can send a workout to ChatGPT or Claude. Reps connects to Claude, and to ChatGPT where your plan and country allow, so you can ask about your training and save the routines it writes after you confirm. The setup guide has the steps.
